Following on from a small successful trial in the US last July, Google has announced it is launching a new feature aimed at small to medium sized enterprises for Google Adwords Credit, a credit card specifically for Google Adwords. The new facility launched collaboratively with Barclaycard will offer a credit facility with a variable 11.9% APR Representative (slightly higher than the US rate of 8.99%.
The new credit card will have an ‘ample credit limit’ and no annual fee – so for many small businesses this may provide a good way of paying for their Google advertising – however it should be added, the proposed rate above can differ according to “creditworthiness”. Once accepted, You can add your AdWords Business Credit to your AdWords account as a MasterCard credit card and make it your primary form of payment or backup credit card (across as many accounts as you have (it would seem).
The scheme would appear to be only available to eligble customers at present who will receive a personalised application ID – and it should be noted that the credit card will not work with any non-Adwords based transactions – and will be declined for such purposes.
