Google messing with your head – again

There is an argument to not doing keyword research late at night for the potential of missing the odd opportunity here and there, however I was perplexed to see this little bit of Google wizardry whilst undertaking some keyword research recently.

Undertaking the search for ‘credit cards’ suggested Google isn’t completely at ease with its own data.

This happened on both signed in and non signed in data. Given Google tends to categorise keyword search volumes into ‘buckets’ one would suggest we should be seeing a exact figures coming through for both figures – however this would suggest perhaps two seperate queries are used for both references.

Has anyone else seen anything similar?

Hi Peter,

Yes – I do agree. Another bug that I seem to have and never resolved is by downloading a list of keywords and not being able to see their values since you’ve selected the “select all” function for downloading. If Google is not at ease with the data they provide you then how can you?
