Live Search only displays one page of results

A recent search on Live for “Cheap holidays” found a very unexpected result. Live search only returned one page! Very strange for a search term such as this, especilly when the same search in Google returns over 1 million results, and it’s not only this search term thats effected, fans of Red Hot Chili Peppers will only find 1 page too.

But it does make the fight for top of the SERPs a lot more important.

I noticed the same thing today for a query for Web Design – http://search.live.com/results.aspx?q=web+design&go=&form=QBLH I’m hoping it’s a bug as otherwise we’ll ahve the latest episode of MSN shooting themselves in to foot.

That may have been a blip because it’s currently showing 80 million results – and you can move onto page 2, 3, etc.

Live Search is weird though. Half the time it tells you you have 3,000 results and then you get onto page 4 and suddenly there’s only 65 results.

Have to say it seems to have gone back to normal for us as well on the terms we noticed above.

Blip or not – is worth keeping an eye on for the next couple of days
